HOME Customer Service Announcement: The new, on-site state-of-the-art computer lab is available to all applicant and licensees. The lab provides applicants and lic ensees with the necessary resources to complete and print on-line registrati ons and licensing applications at the time of being fingerprinted and photographed. The National Criminal History Report Processing Center : The National Criminal History Report Processing Center processes domestic and international request by individuals and governement agency's seeking to obtain criminal record backgound reports on file with the FBI. Request are made for reasons including but not limited to personal, immigration and state or federal applicant processing (ie DoD, DSS-SWFT) as required by law. Criminal history background reports are available within 24 hours (in most cases 3-6 hour's). Results may be retrieved in person or retreived online by the applicant or other authorized recipient as mandated or returned by USPS mail. Reports processed at the request of indiviuals for personal reasons may only be mailed to the applicant or their attorney. Persons intending to appear in person are strongly urged to utilize the online express registration prior to arriving as those persons are seen first upon arrival. The process of responding to an Identification Record request is generally known as a criminal background check. If the fingerprints are related to an arrest, the Identification Record includes name of the agency that submitted the fingerprints to the FBI, the date of the arrest, the arrest charge, and the disposition of the arrest, if known to the FBI. All arrest data included in an Identification Record is obtained from fingerprint submissions, disposition reports, and other information submitted by agencies having criminal justice responsibilities. Individuals typically make this request for personal review, to challenge the information on record, to satisfy a requirement for adopting a child in the United States, Internationally or to satisfy immingration requirements to live, work, or travel in a foreign country (i.e., police certificate, letter of good conduct, criminal history background, etc.). Requesting a FBI Criminal History Background Report : Persons in need of obtaining their Federal criminal records background report as provided under Departmental Order 556-73 may do so in person from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday at the National Criminal History Report Processing Center. Walk-in services are available to the general public during regular business hours. No appointment is necessary. Applicant and licensees who have been provided fingerprint cards that must be returned the the requesting government or private agency for internal processing may bring the fingerprint cards during regular business hours for " fingerprinting only" service . No appointment is required. If necessary, fingerprint cards may also be obtained in the National Criminal History Report Processing Center. Requesting a FBI Criminal History Background Report via Mail : Individuals seeking to obtain a copy of their FBI criminal history background record may do so by submitting two (2) completed FBI FD258 fingerprint cards to the National Criminal Report Processing Center directly in lieu of appearing in person. Results may be retrieved by the applicant securely online, in person or returned via USPS 1st class mail. To submit completed FD258 fingerprint cards via mail for expedited processing see the instructions below. Instructions : 1. Download and complete the applicant forms to be submitted with your Federal criminal history request. 2. Submit two (2) original sets of complete sets of fingerprints on FBI FD258 completed fingerprint cards. 3. Mail the completed application with the required processing fee provided in the applicant forms. U.S. DoD & DSS Contractor SWFT Applicant Processing : The National Criminal History Report Processing Center is the only facility in the mid-atlantic region with the capability to process DoD DSS SWFT federal contaractor applicants in person on a walk-in basis. Livescan fingerprinting for applicants of DoD and DSS federal contractors are processed at the National Criminal History Report Processing Center located in Glen Burnie, MD. In most instances, reports are completed and are made available electroncially to the FSO the same day which may than be uploaded by the FSO directly to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) for further processing. Alternatively, FSO's may also submit completed fingerprint cards by mail for processing in lieu of applicants appearing in person.
